Last year it was blue man group, this year: SMURFS!

4 of us were smurf boys:

Last year we used blue liquid latex, which was a nightmare to put on, but trivial to take off, because it all just came off as one big piece. This year was blue grease paint makeup, which was easy to put on, but took forever to get off. For the entire weekend Laura was finding more blue paint in my hair here and there.

At work, Jeff got the win for “best overall costume”, and collectively we got “best group”. Thats 3 years in a row for best costume, i think both Jeff and i have each won something 4 years running though?

Another halloween, another “best group” costume win. Our carpool went as the blue man group, and jeff (and jay) also built a “Drum-bone” that we played a little routine on. Somehow through all the pictures/etc at work, i don’t think anyone got a video of us!

Unlike the real blue men who use a blue paint that comes off, we used liquid latex. What a mess, and what a pain. It took us 3+ hours to do all of the prep with baldcaps, liquid latex, costumes, ick. Plus the time it took jeff to find parts and actually construct the drumbone. It turned out awesome, and we actually won 2 prizes at at work, “best group” and the “golden frankie” which is a little hard to explain

Our paper mache Bobblehead halloween costumes were the best halloween costumes EVER! About 40 hours of work, several weeks worth of newspapers, 2 giant balloons, 20 little bottles of paint, 5 lbs of flour and some hot glue make a pretty good costume! More details and pics inside!
