More PLP Stuff…

I got in on a Group buy of Prolex Performance stuff from the crew down at Carson Toyota in Carson, CA.
I ended up getting 3 of the 4 products they were doing the GB for:

  • Vented Radiator Panel
  • Heat Shield
  • Passenger Panel

PLP VLP, Heatshield, Passenger Panel Install

The installs were trivially simple. Every product came with its own one page instruction sheet, complete with pics.
For the most part, they were all really straightforward.

    Radiator Panel:

  1. Open hood
  2. Remove 6 bolts and 2 brackets
  3. Move the airbox inlet thingie
  4. put in the radiator panel
  5. put the airbox inlet back
  6. reattach all the brackets and bolts
    Heat Shield:

  1. Remove a bolt holding a bracket on the engine.
    The instructions said 12mm, but
no way. it was 14mm. At first i couldn’t tell if i couldn’t get the 12 on because
it was too small or i just couldn’t get a good angle on it.

  2. slide in the heatshield.
This one was even easier because i already have the PLP intake on. with
the factory intake, you need to remove the intake pipe because it has a
big airbox on it which would be in the way.

  3. put the bracket on/bolt back in
  4. put in the 16mm bolt they supplied with the heatshield
  5. close hood
    Passenger Panel:

  1. Open passenger door
  2. Put panel in (optionally could screw it into a screw in the carpet,
but it has velcro on it and is in there pretty snug so i didnt do that)

  3. close passenger door
